I’m glowing from my skin treatment from Sara!

June 28th, 2011

I just had another amazing skin treatment from Sara, the aesthetician at Dr. Rochlin’s office. Sara is always professional, warm and down to earth. No matter what condition my skin may be in… whether it’s a crazy breakout, I’m seriously overdue for a deep exfoliation or just need some pampering,  Sara always delivers beyond my expectations. I especially love the foot massages!  I also love Dr. Rochlin’s new offices and helpful staff.

Looking forward as always to my next treatment.  Danielle H., Peoria

Overcoming Your Triggers to Overeat

October 12th, 2010

One of the most common complaints that I hear from people attempting to lose weight is, “I don’t know how to deal with my triggers.” Most of us have had the experience of eating just one bite of something and suddenly wanting to devour the entire thing. Sometimes we do, even though we know we won’t be happy with ourselves when we finish.

I am familiar with the experience of insisting that today is absolutely the last day that I am going to eat junk food. From here on out, it’s organic vegetables for me! Then around 2:00 PM the next day, I start raiding the candy dish wondering what happened to my resolve. Does this sound like you?

Recently, I read a fascinating book entitled, The End of Overeating. It was written by David Kessler, MD, a former commissioner at the FDA. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to know more about why they crave and eat what they do. He describes many things which shape our eating habits:

Personal Preference
Family Tradition
Emotions
Habits
Social Influences
Cultural Influences
Marketing
Food Engineering

Unfortunately, this list isn’t even exhaustive. When it comes to eating, you are David fighting Goliath. You’re not overweight because you have no will power. And it’s not because you don’t want to be healthy. The truth is just giving you a list of healthy foods to eat won’t cut it. You must have a really powerful set of weapons to stand up to all of this. The most powerful weapon: present moment awareness.

When you feel overwhelmed by the urge to eat something that you know will leave you feeling crummy the second you swallow it, slow down. In fact, stop. Bring your awareness to now. Take three slow, deep breaths in and out. Allow yourself at least one minute to breathe.

What’s going on with your body? What’s going on around you? What’s going on inside your heart, your mind, and your spirit? There are an endless number of other things you could do than reach for those fries, including doing nothing at all. This short pause gives you back your power to choose.

Maybe you just need a glass of water. Perhaps what you’d really like is a break and a short walk around the block. You might check in with your feelings to see what needs attention. You could realign with whatever it is that has motivated you to start eating healthier in the first place.

Now is where reality lives. When your awareness is not here, you are living in a dream, very often a self-created nightmare. I urge you to try bringing yourself back into your body, back into reality. What kind of powerful choices will you make now?

Breast Augmentation

September 2nd, 2010

Thank you Dr. Rochlin.  You are truly a gifted Doctor and an amazing person.  I had breast augmentation 11 1/2 years ago with another surgeon.  I had saline implants.  One of my implants deflated.   I had a consultation with the Dr. that did the initial surgery and Dr. Rochlin.  Wow, what a difference in just a consultation!  The first Dr. didn’t even look at my breasts or discuss options.   From the first time I entered Dr. Rochlin’s office I felt at home.  I made the initial consultation appointment through Polly, who was sitting at the front desk to greet  me when I arrived.  She was so nice and understanding.   She understood the urgency of why I was there.   Dr. Rochlin really listened to my concerns.  She took her time explaining exactly what needed to be done.  I felt so comfortable with her, and had total faith in her that she would do a great job.  She understood that I didn’t want to walk around lopsided for very long so they scheduled surgery promptly.   A few weeks later it was surgery day.  Dr. Rochlin’s Anesthesiologist was extraordinary.   He made me feel comfortable and in good hands.   The next thing I knew the procedure was complete.  Dr. Rochlin was the first person I saw when I woke up.  She reassured me that everything went well.   My pain level was minimal.  It was nothing compared to the first surgery.  I didn’t have any  bruising and very little swelling.   I was up and around the next day.  Yes, I was sore, but not really in any pain.  I think I took a total of 2 pain pills, mostly to help sleep.      I felt back to normal within a week.  I LOVE my results.  Dr. Rochlin gave me exactly what I had asked for.  I would highly recommend Dr. Rochlin to anyone.

Mommy Makeover!

August 3rd, 2010

Hi,
Im the biggest fan of Dr. Roc and her staff, I love Polly! My experience was so positive and uplifting! I cannot stop talking about how awesome this procedure was for me!!!
First , let me say… Im 51… my last child was born 21 years ago, so I was a little afraid I was too old for a mommy makeover at my age. the results are unbelievable!!!!! I feel like I have  my teenage body back!
I will just say Dr. Roc treated me as a beloved sister and encouraged me in all aspects of my health. She is real and full of life… the best of the best! I think she is a Rock Star!!!

I felt very prepared pre and post and was made aware of all possible issues and potential problems. I looked forward to all my follow-up appointments. It was so smooth! Dr. Roc is professional, real and a cheerleader for all her patients.

If we all could be lucky enough to have a doctor who is a true friend as well as a competent surgeon

testimonial: more confidence and self esteem

August 2nd, 2010

“Hi my name is Rachel im 29 years old and i had a full lift and implants done in october 2009. I had know idea when I met Dr. Rochlin that she was about to change my life. I had such low self esteem about my body i wore a bra to bed every night, I hadnt been swimming in years and the list goes on. I had been to 3 other surgeons and when I met Dr. Rochlin I knew she was the one. I got a call the night before and when I arrived that day felt very comfortable and at ease. Dr Rochlin Called me the night I got home and i saw her the very next Morning. she did an amazing Job and Im back at the pool in my bikini and have so much more confidence and self esteem.”

THE NIGHT BEFORE

June 21st, 2010

Well everyone, it’s Heather. My surgery is tomorrow and can anyone say “Christmas?” Because that is actually what I feel like right now. Semone and her staff are pnenominal!!

I spoke to Charles today! OMG what a nice and pleasant man. Charles is the anesthesiologist who Dr. Rochlin uses.   He answered all my questions with time, commitment, and just like I like it ———all is going to be okay! So roughly, 12 hours from now I will be under the knife at Semone’s capable hands.

I guess the only thing that I am worried about is the whole thing about not eating after midnight!!! That by far, is probably the hardest thing I will have to do!!

Dr. Rochlin is the only reason I have decided to go through this.   I will follow up with everyone sometime tomorrow evening or Tuesday..primarily depending on how I am feeling!!!

Hi,

My name is Paula, one of Dr Rochlin’s patients. I had liposution from abs, flanks, and inner thighs 3 1/2 weeks ago. I can’t tell you how excited I am. It was such a great experience. Dr Rochlin and her team are top notch. They are all so proffessional, caring, and comforting. You can tell how much Dr Rochlin cares about her patients by the team that she has.

I never believed in these procedures. I have always worked out very hard and eat very clean. After turning 48 I started to have areas that I couldn,t keep firm. It didn’t matter how hard I worked out or good my diet was. It was absolutely devastating. Now I wouldn,t hesitate. We are so fortunate to have such great procedures to fine tune . Most of all we are so fortunate to have Dr Rochlin to have the procedures with. Truly, Dr Rochlin and her team are the best. I’m so glad I went to her. By the way, I was working out exactly 2 weeks after the procedure. Whoo hoooo !!!! Thanks so much Dr Rochlin !!!!

Mommy Makeover!!

June 10th, 2010

Hey Everyone!! Thought I would join in on Polly’s experience with Semone!! My name is Heather, and I’ve elected to have Semone do her “Mommy Makeover.” To give you a quick background on myself and my situation..I am 36 years old and a mother of 5. My last pregnancy, however, was a little different, as we found out we were being blessed with TWINS!! Now bear in mind, twins do not run on either side of the family, so to say we were surprised is a GROSS UNDERSTATEMENT!! My twins are now almost 11 months old. I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight, actually a little under!! But with anyone who has twins can testify, I was enormous, and I have extra stretched skin that will not bounce back, regardless of the amount of time I spend at the gym. Key Semone Rochlin!! I’ve known Semone from both a professional and personal standpoint since October of 2009. I hired her to do moonlighting work for my medical centers, as I was in desparate need for assistance. I have never seen any single physician with the compassion, confidence, caring, or grace that Semone Rochlin brings to the table. This obviously compliments the skills, knowledge and abilities that she already posseses. She is by far, a “diamond in the ruff.”

I was extremely hesitant about undergoing such a full blown surgery because of the normal fears, hesitations, and costs. Semone and Polly (who is her do-it-all employee at her center) are very down to earth and don’t make you feel out of place or that you are being judged on your appearance. Their main goal is to make you comfortable in your own skin. So to make a long story short, after about 2 months of constant argueing with myself, I decided, “Why not?” This will be the first thing I’ve ever done for myself. Yeah it’s a biggie, but as Semone’s says, “You’re worth it.” So my surgery is June 21, 2010 at 7am in the morning, and I am totally tickled pink.

I’m having the Mommy Makeove; tummy tuck and breast lift. The tummy tuck is for obvious reasons, as my last pregnancy was with twins. The breast lift will bring my breasts back to their youthful appearance, which I haven’t seen since I breastfed my first child over 14 years ago. Five children later, who were all breastfed, I’m in definate need of some “lifting!” So continue to check back here, and I’ll keep everyone informed before, during, and after the entire process.

God Bless,
Heather
